What Is SFTP Sync?

SFTP stands for Secure File Transfer Protocol, a network protocol that provides a secure way to transfer and sync files. Many businesses and organizations use SFTP to transfer documents as it uses SSH (Secure Shell) encryption to prevent unauthorized access.

iFax’s SFTP Sync offers secure and reliable file transfers for efficient fax document management. It lets you connect to your SFTP server to synchronize folders containing faxes, saving you time and hassle from transferring and syncing files manually.

How to Use SFTP Sync

Given that your SFTP server is already set, you can go to iFax’s dashboard and follow these easy steps:

  1. On your dashboard, click the menu icon next to Folders under Organize.
  2. Select New Folder to create a new folder. Name it (e.g., Shared SFTP folder) and click Save. This folder will be synced automatically to the remote server, cloud storage, or local storage where your SFTP client has been set.
  3. Now, select the faxes you want to move into the SFTP folder. You can move multiple files at the same time. Click Move and select your SFTP folder as the destination folder. Confirm by clicking Move Here.

That’s it. Your fax documents will sync automatically. You can verify whether it is successful by looking at your synced file database.
